Hey, Merchant! Welcome to the city of Rosewall, where you can make all your dreams come true as long as those dreams are all “Run a really cool and successful shop!” The first step to achieving that dream is to understand how to run a shop at all—the cool and successful part will come later*. I’m Chrys, and here’s everything you need to know about running a shop and living in Rosewall!
Buy (and make) Low, Sell High
Did you know food, clothes, furniture, art, and all the other things around you are made of other things? It’s true! Whether they’re called “ingredients,” “materials,” “supplies,” or “Chrys stop I’m using that,” You’ll find whatever you need at The Parade, a huge marketplace where different vendors sell different things, sometimes on different days! You can then use those things to make all the things you want using recipes, which you’ll find and gather the longer you run your shop. Prices can change every day, so make sure you check in often!

Hire Slow, Assign Quick
You can’t make everything (or anything at all, if we’re being honest) on your own. As you build up your shop you’ll hire cooks, stonemasons, artists, and more to make all those wonderful recipes you’ve been collecting. Be sure to assign them to the right workstation, though, since you can’t make a dress with a stove.

Stock, Sell, Survive
All that stuff your employees make needs to sell! Before you open your shop, you can stock your shelves with the best stuff you’ve got, assign people to tend the shop (you’re a very busy boss, after all), and talk to shoppers. Customers are fickle and will want different things on different days. The better you keep track of customer desires and cater to them, the better you’ll do.
It’s all fun and games here, but you also need to hit your quotas. Every month, The Estoq Trading Company (your bosses) are going to ask for their share. If you can’t make your quote for the month, your shop is done for.

It’s Who (And What) You Know
The longer you live in Rosewall, the more you’ll learn about the city and its people. Holidays, weather patterns, and more could affect the cost of resources and the sell price of all your goods, so make sure you’re keep up with your people! This includes the folks who work for you and visit your shop on occasion. You might be able to help people resolve some personal problems or even uncover a conspiracy at the heart of the city. I personally doubt anything like that is actually happening, but you never know.

Have fun!
Remember: The whole point of running a shop is to have fun. Well, I assume that’s the case. I’ve never run a shop. I’m just a receptionist.
